Sharon Kabanak

Sharon Kabanak, a citizen of the Kluane First Nation, was born and raised in the Yukon Territory.  Sharon resiliently tells stories of her nomadic and ancestral journeys, worldly cultural values, belief systems and foreign languages learned during early travels throughout England, Europe and North Africa.

Sharon has worked in subsistence and sustainable harvests, including in the vineyards of France. She now studies and practises Alaskan Floral Essences and goes clam digging on the Kenai Peninsula shores of Alaska when tired of health aide work.  Her travels helped her to find traditional practises and to balance the teachings by visiting various chiefs and learning about their self-government and land claims processes.
