Anne Leckie was born and raised in Stratford, Connecticut before going to Virginia to attend university. She received a PhD. in geography from the University of Calgary and has worked extensively in Brazil and Canada’s North. Before moving to the Yukon in 1986, Anne was a University Professor in New York State.
Anne is a founding member of the Mayo Historical Society and has served on that Board for over 20 years. She currently serves as Chair of the Museums Advisory Committee and sits on the Yukon Water Board and the Yukon Historical & Museums Association. Anne was also instrumental in starting the Heritage Unit for the First Nation of Nacho Nyak Dun.
Anne runs an experimental farm situated between Stewart and Mayo which is powered by her own micro hydro power system.
